Checking the Bucket List

Tomorrow I leave for a trip. It will be the longest I've been away from home except for the magical trip I took to Maui. We are heading out in our RV, "glamping." 2 days in Dallas to see Aaron, a stop in middle Louisianna and then several days in NOLA & then on to Mobile, Al, for a family wedding. When my mom was pregnant with me, my parents lived in Louisianna and I have always wanted to go deep into the State. It definitely was on my Bucket List so stay tuned....

Happy Birthday Coco Puff

Happy FIRST Birthday to my sweet Chloe. How excited we all were for your appearance into this world. Your birth was the most amazing thing. Your mommy was in such control and we were all actually shocked when we heard your first whimpers. Because you were very cold, we had to wait about an hour to meet you and hear your name. You look a lot like your brother but there are some differences. You are into EVERYTHING and we have to watch you every second. You are a very sweet child and you are always smiling. You love your Papa and one of your favorite games with him is to have him rub your feet on his whiskers. You have our hearts. We love you, little Coco Puff!!

Candy Necklace

I had to give Emma her first candy necklace. She loved it!!

Oops....

Katy brought the kids to my house while we were gone on vacation. Tucker locked himself in our bathroom. Katy got half the doorknob off before she called Mark & he told her where a key was. Tucker was freaked, holding on to my robe and crying by the time she got in. I love that. So when we came home, Mark showed him how to repair the doorknob.

Ouch!!

This is what happens when you bake in the sun when you are a teenager. You have to rot your nose off with a chemo cream to get rid of the pre-cancer. It actually got worse than this pic shows.

Once in a blue moon...

Mark made me Swedish Pancakes last Sunday. It was probably the second meal he has ever cooked for me. They were delish!!

Baby Jail

I love this picture of Chloe taken through my footboard on my bed. Hopefully she stays on the free side of any jail!!!

Happy Birthday to me....

I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday this year on Easter. I love this picture of Tucker as my candles were being lit. I let the kids blow out the candles this year which was a big deal for them. I didn't think they would react to the coconut on top the cake but they were both digging it out of their mouths. Must have been a texture thing.

Really?

My office receptionist gave me these today for my birthday. I am just not sure what to think???

Peeps for my Starbuck's Peeps

Since they know my name at Starbuck's and are always so sweet to open the week's iTunes download for me on Tueday's, I decided to load up some Peeps with my iPod and take the peeps to my "peeps" this week. SO much fun!!

Peeps...who doesn't love 'em?

Wall Words

I love these new wall words that are in my kitchen. They seem to go well with the Old World look I have going on. Now I suppose I will need to cook. :(

Hey Mambo....

I really love fun wine labels. This one made me feel quite Cuban. I would have danced the mambo if: (a) I knew how to mambo and (b) I wouldn't have sloshed the wine, so instead I just enjoyed it.

Starbuck's...where everyone knows my name....

Due to some generous friends and family, I have a whopper of a balance on my Starbuck's card. So Tuesday mornings I run in since it is also iTunes Tuesdays and I can get a free download for a song.
I must be the only person who knows this because until I come in, the employees haven't remembered to put out the new cards. And I always have to ask. Therefore I have earned the name "Music Girl" or "iTunes Girl" or some of them know my name as Kristy. So this Tuesday the barrista asked my name & as she was writing it on the cup she mentioned she may have not spelled it correctly. I told her unless she started my name with a "K", she was wrong. She told me she should have guessed that since I didn't look like a "C". I was oddly flattered.....

My Leprechauns

My little darlings all have Irish blood on both sides of their families. How fun it is for me to see pics of them in the hats I made for them!!

Lifechanging.....

I recently read this book. Oh my, it is amazing!! You can tell what I thought of it by all the shreds of paper I stuck into the parts I wanted to remember. The gist of the book is that we can script our own lives instead of letting life just happen to us. Very inspiring and I wish I would have come across it many years ago. I truly believe that books come into our lives when we are ready to hear the message they bring us so I have to trust in the timing.....still.....wish I would have read it in my 30's.

Happiness in a cup

This is the sight that greets me every morning and sometimes in the afternoons. The espresso machine was an investment that I have never regretted. I am happy every time I hear the coffee beans being ground. And I MUST drink my concoction from my Hawaii mugs that I have collected. Pure bliss for me!!

My Favorite Lunch

I rarely take the time to eat lunch out with anyone. Too many errands to run, too hard to work out time with anyone else. So Friday was very special because I begged my daughter to go with me to my new favorite restaurant, Zen Vegetarian Cusine. This is the Korean Rice Bowl that I am currently obsessed with. I love it's spiciness!! So thanks, Katy, for taking pity on your mother and letting me enjoy a special meal!!

The beginning....

I've wanted to start a personal blog for quite some time. It is scary to me to put my random thoughts in print....to open myself up to misunderstandings and criticism. But this is my journey, back to my authentic self. It is also a legacy with love to my children and grandchildren so let the words begin.....
